Pregnancy & Family Pics

A girl in our youth group, asked me if she could take pregnancy pictures of me for her portfolio. Of course, I said yes! I was excited to get some pregnancy pics and I knew she'd do a great job! We also did some family pics, too. Here's some of the pics! Thanks Anna!!! They look great!

What We Learned This Week

We've tried something new to keep Mj focused on his schoolwork. I set a timer and he has to beat the clock (and still have neat handwriting and coloring). Whatever time is left on the clock he gets to use to add to his 30 min. of wii. Quite the motivation!!

So what Mj learned this week:

Bible:
We studied King Saul and David. Memorized I John 4:7 - "Beloved, let us love one another for love is of God, and everyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God."

Phonics:
We talked about cowboys. Mj wrote a story about what it would be like to be a horse.
He learned about bossy R and how he makes the vowel say his name. ("ar" and "or")

Reading:
Read a story about President Lincoln

Math:
Double Digit Addends

Heritage Studies:
We finished our chapter on settlements. We talked about Jamestown and Plymouth and why the settlers chose the areas they chose to build a settlement.

Science:
We began a chapter on Heat. We did an experiment. Mj had to melt an icecube and then freeze the water.

Spanish:
We reviewed the colors in Spanish

What Jadyn's been learning:
Coloring, Shape Sorting, Building Blocks, Putting together Unifix Cubes, and Playing with Mrs. Potato Head.
Of course, lots of books are involved, too! She loves to read.

Search & Win

I absolutely love swagbucks!! I paid very little for Christmas gifts cause I had earned lots of Amazon gift cards using my swagbucks!! I was just on the computer for 30 minutes and won 4 swagbucks!!! 45 swagbucks = a $5 Amazon gift card. You can easily make 45 swagbucks a month! That's a $5 Amazon gift card a month!!! Right now I have 68 swagbucks. I'm going for a higher reward for myself. We'll see what I decide to get, but I do have 2 Amazon gift cards that I have already earned since Christmas just sitting there waiting for me to use them! If you want to start earning swagbucks, click on the pic at the top of this post or my swidget on the side of my blog!

Holidays are over - Back to school!

Mj to Mj's chagrin, school has started again and our break is over. I keep reminding him that in a couple of weeks he's going to get another big break with the new baby and Mj's birthday coming. He was a trooper this week and did well overall. Now that we're halfway through the year, things are getting harder and he's learning to take his time with his seatwork. Keep it up Mj!!!

Mj's canoe he made in Phonics class.

Mj and Jadyn made trumpets to walk around the city of Jericho in Bible class.

Jadyn tried to blow the trumpet with her nose.
